Football, Rajiv Gandhi and karate kids

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a government-run co-educational residential school in Bishnupur district, Manipur. It claims to have produced some notable students, considering the odds of getting good education in a state torn by insurgency, extortion and organized crime. The school admits students from Class IV to Class XII.

Manipur, apart from Kerala and West Bengal, takes football seriously.

Icons.

Manipur kingdom's prince Bir Tikendrajit (1856-1891), General Thangal Singh (1821-1891) and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi (1944-1991).

Karate kids.

A pleasant day to play now and worry about homework later.

On the way to the school, National Highway 150.

(journey basket would like to thank school principal M.A. Muneeb)
